Spaying and neutering our animal friends is important and necessary for many reasons. More than 6,000 cats and dogs arrive at Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS) each year. Spaying and neutering pets can help stop the pet overpopulation crisis and reduce the number of animals euthanized each year. Spayed and neutered pets live longer, healthier, and happier lives than those who are not altered. Do the best for your pet and have him/her spayed or neutered to help end animals from being homeless. Contact your veterinarian for more information about the surgery and health benefits to your animal.
